Description

As an important linear space on the banks of the St. Lawrence, it nurtures different spatial locations with different characteristics. Faced with practical problems such as ceiling barriers, how to reasonably open up the connection between multiple nodes and promote the composite linear network is the central question of this design. Multi-source vector data such as POI data, road network data and construction data are collected on a macro scale, and the "multi-dimensional connection" is constructed by kernel density analysis, space syntax analysis and view-field analysis. The prototypical nodes are drawn out by looking for current dynamic hotspots and potential cold spots for renewal, and adding new node catalysts in the riparian zone to the coastal space through exemplary transformation and orientation.

The design of space along the river is composed of two types: linear spaces and node spaces. Linear space and node space are the basic components of space design along the river. Linear space refers primarily to the continuous space along the river, which reflects the linear characteristics of the river and offers citizens a place for relaxation, entertainment and communication. The node space refers to the important intersection point along the river. These sites are generally rich in natural resources and human landscapes, and form an important part of the river space.
