TRAME LIBRE
The project adopts the principles of invisibly accessible design as a central guideline for circulation strategies and the CEPSUM's relationship with its urban context. The proposal establishes a network of multiple access points, ensuring continuous and equitable connectivity from Boulevard Édouard-Montpetit, the underground public transit systems (Métro and future REM), the adapted parking and drop-off areas, and the landscaped terraces (Les Jardins), leading to the new main reception area, now relocated to the 3rd level of the newly designed volume.
Accessibility is ensured through an integrated system of ramps, ramp-stairs, and elevators, all conceived as architectural and functional components of the project--not as add-on features. This approach allows for freedom of movement and equal path choice, supporting universal use and equity of experience for all users.
Circulation paths are continuous and unobstructed, with no abrupt level changes or physical barriers, enabling full autonomy for individuals with reduced mobility, visual impairments, or other specific needs. Guidance and support elements are discreetly embedded in the architectural language, addressing criteria of legibility, comfort, and empathy in use.
In addition to its functional dimension, the project incorporates social and community-oriented spaces along circulation routes, including rest areas and internal and external viewing platforms. These strategies reinforce the building's public and inclusive character, encouraging its appropriation by the wider community even outside of scheduled sports events.

The proposal adds a building to the center, integrating social spaces and offering beautiful views thanks to the play of ramps. The solution is functional, though not very innovative. The ramps and stairs combination outside the building are dangerous for people with disabilities., The transition between interior and exterior is unclear to the jury. Additional elevators can be considered for easy access to other floors.
The jury awarded this proposal a special mention for its strong street presence and the addition of an agora, which enriches the program and user experience. The proposal's presentation was judged among the best, with a unique path from the street that captures attention and guides users naturally. The volume and spaces created are particularly interesting, and the red ramp provides an attractive scenic effect. Finally, the creation of an interior courtyard contributes to the quality of the overall spatial experience.
