THE BREATHING PORTAL
The Architecture of Exposure
At the foundation of our approach lies the Principle of Exposure - an abstract architectural methodology developed as a sequence of nine generative processes. These processes describe how an environment transitions from pure potential to lived experience and back: storage of latent material, form incubation, impulse, membrane activation. chaos archive, exposure platform, moment of habitation, recording, and dissolution. This cyclical model creates a "reactor of possibility," where every architectural element is understood as both a product of previous experience and a field for new scenarios. The abstract model does not prescribe a fixed form but acts as an engine for inventing adaptable typologies, responding uniquely to every site and user. In our work, this methodology guided the development of an abstract architectural typology, which is then materialized in three unique site - specific concepts, each demonstrating a different aspect of the exposure cycle - proving the versatility and generative capacity of the principle.
The Breathing Portal
The entrance is an instantly appearing and disappearing threshold, unique for every individual and every moment. It is never repeated or archived, but is always a new, personal experience. The boundary is invisible, inclusive, and adapts to each user, embodying a field of empathy and barrier-free access.
(From competitor's text)
The proposal is original and "out of the box", but difficult to understand. The text is difficult to read and accessibility is not addressed. This proposal would have benefited from more explanation on how it would create universal accessibility for all.
